Balaphone is an
instrument that belongs to the xylophone family, i.e. it
consists of a set of wooden bars of various sizes that are
struck with sticks. Bottle gourd fruit under the bars amplify
the sound.
The
pitch of the sound depends on the length, thickness and hardness
of wood used to make the bars. The longer, thicker and harder
the bar the lower the tone.
